Easy DIY Amazon Birthday Photoshoot
Would you believe me if I told you I took these photos at home, with products you can purchase TODAY on Amazon? Keep reading to learn more about this DIY Birthday Photoshoot, as well as some photography tips & tricks!

Amazon Supplies!
TRIPODS: You can either use a full 60″ Tripod, or a more Flexible & Compact Tripod. Both of these come with a mobile phone attachment!
BLUETOOTH CAMERA SHUTTER: This shutter works for both iPhone and Android mobile devices! So helpful for when you need to capture a moment but still have your hands partially free to adjust the kiddos!
BACKDROP SYSTEM: This is what you’ll use to hang your backdrop of choice on. This specific system includes backdrop clips, a traveling case, and stabilizing weights; everything you’d ever need! Super easy to set up and take down.
BACKDROP PAPER: I chose a paper backdrop because it’s SO easy to clean up (perfect for a one year old smashing cake 🤪). There are tons of colors you can chose from!
CAKE STAND: Pretty self explanatory, a cute cake stand 🎂
BIRTHDAY CROWN: Cute birthday crown! If you don’t want the “1″ to show, just rotate the crown!
BIRTHDAY ONESIE: There are so many options for birthday outfits, but we loved the delicate ruffles and blush pink on this one!

I used my go-to Stardust preset for this shoot.

Tips & Tricks!
(FOR IPHONES)
We all know toddlers, they’re CONSTANTLY on the move. We’re lucky if we get a photo that isn’t blurry 😅. Sometimes we find that we capture something unwanted in a photo. In this case, the backdrop system was showing in the background of one of the photos I absolutely loved. NOT TO FRET! A simple crop and the entire photo transformed 🤩
Perfectly frame your photo in 2 seconds with a simple crop! This can be done within your Photos app, or you can import the photo into Lightroom and crop it there. Such a simple thing can make a HUGE difference in your final photo!
Don’t forget to play with PORTRAIT MODE! Get that dreamy bokeh effect with a tap of a button. I try to take a handful of different types of photos when shooting at home!
LIVE photos – To get multiple frames to select from.
PORTRAIT photos – To instantly give my photos a professional finish. Adjust the depth of field at ANY time if you use this photo mode! (We’ll have another blog post covering this in the future 😘).
Capture photos from a video – This is something I’ve been doing A LOT recently! Two birds with one stone, grab photo stills while recording a video. Start recording a video like you typically do, then tap the white shutter icon in the bottom right of the Camera app! Just like that, you’ve captured both VIDEO & PHOTO memories at the same time – AMAZING!!!
